In “A Fistful of Dollars” (1964) Joe tells Piripero the undertaker, “Get three coffins ready.” He returns from a gunfight shortly afterwards and tells him, “My mistake. Four coffins.” Given the movie takes place in the 19th century, Joe is likely illiterate and unable to count correctly.
