Cast of a dog found at Pompeii. The plaster cast was made on a dog skeleton during the excavation of the domus of Vesonius Primus in Pompeii in the 19th century. The dog retains the collar with which it was tied to a chain, which prevented it from escaping during the eruption of 79 AD.
