#**Daily Box Office (March 16th 2024)**

The market hits ¥161M/$22.3M which is up +131% versus yesterday and down -32% versus last week.

Kung Fu Panda 4’s pre-screenings exceed projections massively. Even +3% up from last weeks round. For tomorrow it has over $450k in pre-sales and is projected to make another $2.5M which will take its total past $10M ahead of its full release next week.

The Movie Emperor’s re-release continues doing poorly adding just $300k today. Less than yesterday.

The Russian movie The Challenge also continues flopping seeing barelly any increase from its already tiny opening day on Friday.

Dune 2 exceeds ¥236M/$33M today after grossing a great $4.41M. 2nd Saturday +117% up from Dune P1 and +46% up from Ant Man 3. It in on track to beat Dune P1’s total gross tomorrow or at worst on Monday just 10 days into its run.

The Pig, the Snake and The Pigeon remains at the top as expected but Dune 2 is keeping it honest.

It has now become the 4th highest grossing Taiwanese movie ever in China counting co-productions. Tomorrow it will pass ¥500M and potentialy could climb to 3rd on the all time list.

Weekend projections for this now also set to hit that high end $11M(-48%)

The Boy and the Heron has now been confirmed for an April 3rd release. It will kick off quite a rich month of Japanese animation with Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning releasing on the 20th followed by another Miyazaki movie Howl’s Moving Castle on the 30th April alongside SPYxFAMILY CODE: White which will release on the same day.

On top of that today we also had a confirmation that Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump will release in China. No date yet.
