With the horror genre being as reliable and resilient as ever, where even with bad reviews and reception, a movie can hope to make a decent box office chunk and churn out a sizable profit as can be evidenced with some of the 2023 offerings with ***Insidious: The Red Door*** ($189M), ***The Exorcist: Believer*** ($136M), and ***Five Nights at Freddy’s*** ($291M).
Even original movies if they get good reviews can strike out like ***Thanksgiving*** ($46M) or ***Talk to Me*** ($92M).
