And when I say cult status I mean people [going absolutely insane at midnight screenings](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLqv6mRQbng), get [documentaries](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yop-LjljnSM) made about why/how they were made, stuff like that. Not just “it’s gained a lot of support over the years despite initial failure.”

This isn’t restricted to “so bad it’s good” type movies, it can be just zany, silly fun films that were simply unappreciated at the time of release.
